Creating an Input Table with Summable Numeric Columns

I have tried a number of ways to enter data needed and to perform calculations on it

I want to create an input table that has the following columns:

Date Type Vendor Cost-Patient Cost-Care Giver

it would be preferable for type to be drop down (Plane, Bus, Rail, Taxi/Ride Share and Public Transportation)

    Mulitple rows could be entered

I'd like to be able to sum the column for Cost-Patient and Cost-Caregiver

The input table with mixed column type doesn't allow a numerical text box - so the sum seems to be a concatenation of the enties. I get the same result using spreadsheets - a concatenation.

I don't see any funtions that turn text into numbers.

I've run out of ideas -- do you have any?

    Hi Myositis_Support,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, when using an Input Table with Multi-Type Columns, it's not possible to select a numeric textbox as an option, which is why summing values results in concatenation instead of proper numerical calculations.

As a workaround, you can use a separate Input Table Element for the Cost-Patient and Cost-Caregiver columns. This will ensure that all entries are treated as numbers, allowing you to perform accurate calculations. Check out my screenshot below:Creating an Input Table with Summable Numeric Columns Image 1 Screenshot 50Next, you'll need to add a Form Calculation widget:

    1. In Form Builder and click on Add Element on the upper-left side of the page.

    2. Click on the Widgets tab, click on the Form Calculation widget to add it to your form.

    3. Then, set the formula like you see below and click on Save.

Set another Form Calculation Widget to get the Caregiver Cost Total. Check out the screencast below to see how your form will work after setting it up: Creating an Input Table with Summable Numeric Columns Image 4 Screenshot 83 Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.
