I created prepopultsted forms using the Jotform prepopulator. I need the two fields that were prepopulated to be read only when usiing the URL.
Is this possible ?
This is a sample of the form
2 HS Cheer Tryouts - (Tumbling)
Field AUdition School and Field Judge # are the fields i need to be read only

Hello JnBFestProd,
Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. Yes, it is possible, however this will apply to the form entirely (based on the fields), not just the prepopulated URL. If the form is only intended to be submitted via the URL parameter, then this should work. To achieve that, you just need to set the field to Read Only on the field properties. Let me show you how:
- In the Form Builder, hover the field and click on the Gear Icon to open the Properties
- Click on the Advanced Tab
- And then toggle the Read Only Feature to On.
Here is a sample result on my test form, prepopulated URL:

Hello JnBFestProd,
I’ll need a bit of time to look into this. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Thanks for your patience, we appreciate it.

Hello JnBFestProd,
If the field is dropdown, a workaround for this is to copy the value to a short text field and set that to Read Only. Let me show you how:
- In the Form Builder, add a new field (Short Text is preferred) and set it to Read Only.
- Now, for the Dropdown Field, set a Default Value (this is optional) and set it field to hidden. The Default value set on the form will be used on the Short text field later, however if you still need to set the value in the App, you can always change it.
- Now for the condition, add an Update/Calculate field condition to the form. Create a condition to copy the value of the dropdown to the Text field.
- Now, on the Prepopulate App, click on Show All so you can see the hidden field (Dropdown) and be able to set a value. (This is optional if you have not added the Default Value from earlier)
Here is a result of my test form:
- In the Form Builder, add a new field (Short Text is preferred) and set it to Read Only.
