Reply to Submission to my form in my Inbox

Hi there

I can see through the help articles I can reply to those that submit to my JotForm. But in my inbox the "reply" option in greyed out. Is that because I am on a free account?

Hi Sara,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Can you share us the link of your form? You can easily find your form's URL in Form Builder. Let me show you how:

1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Publish.
2. In the Quick Share tab, click on Copy Link in the Share With Link section.

Upon checking your form, you used a Short Text field to collect your user's email address, and you need to use an Email Address field if you want to use the Reply button feature in Jotform Inbox. Here's how:

1. In Form Builder, click on Add Element + on the left side of the page.
2. Under Basic tab, find and add the Email field into your form.

ah ok thanks. So with those that have already submitted to my jot form, if I update the form as you mentioned above, will I be able to reply to those that already submitted?

Hi Sara,

Yes, you should be able to email to your filler's email address for following Christian's suggestion. But, I suggest you to avoid deleting the old email element, which has the short text element. Do note that deleting any element will also delete automatically that particular field's submission data, and you can't recover. So, I suggest you to hide the old email element and add the new one email which is specifically designed to collect the email addresses only.
