Form Calculation - Count based on specific selections

I'm trying to create an interest assessment quiz/form. The user will be given a bunch of choices and they will need to select all that apply to them. Each option belongs to a specific category (in the screen shot below, all options in yellow are "Realistic" or "R", options in pink are "Social" or "S", options in green are "Investigative" or "I", options in red are "Enterprising" or "E", options in blue are "Artistic" or "A", and options in purple are "Conventional" or "C").

Is there a way to calculate, or count, the number of each that are selected? (How many answers they selected in the "R" category, how many answers in the "S" category, etc.)

I have assigned each option its corresponding letter and I have a calculation field at the end with the count function. However, it only counts the number of all boxes selected. I can change the count function to A-Z, but then it just lists all the choices with no count.

How can you specify the condition you want the formula to count?

    Hi Amber,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, it's currently not possible to count the number of selections made per category using the Form Calculation widget. You can check out Summarize with Chart here. This widget lets you calculate the total for an option chosen during submission.

While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
