NanaAsked on April 3, 2025 at 6:29 PMI am experiencing an issue with formatting dollar values in Jotform. Specifically, I cannot return a dollar value result with a comma as a separator despite using masked input, which does not seem to work. I would like to create a ticket for this issue.

Hello Nana,
Thank you fore reaching out to Jotform Support. If I understand it correctly, you want to copy the amount of Revenue to have a format of $123,456 in this form? If so, when I cloned and tested your form, the same thing happened for me. After investigating it a bit, I found out that you have added Custom Patterns on the widget, that is why it is overriding the configuration:
To fix it, you need to leave the Custom Patterns empty so it will work. Here is a screencast result of my cloned form:

It didn't work. There is still no comma being used as a separator.

Hi Obeng_Nana,
I tested the Form my college recommend and worked well. Which specific field value you want to add to the comma separator?
Reach out again if you have any other questions.

After the form is submitted the Modified Thank you message includes information based on the selections and the REVENUE RISK. This dollar value on the Thank you screen does not have a comma as a separator.

Hi Nana,
After investigating a bit, I found a solution. In the Form Calculation widget, we can use the commaSeparate() function to display properly the comma separator.
- In Form builder, scroll down and select the Masked Input widget, then click the Trash Can icon to remove it.
2. While in Form Builder, select the Form Calculation widget (Revenue Risk field) and click the Wand icon to open its settings.
3. In the calculation section, add a dollar sign ($) and click the purple f(x) button and search for commaSeparate() then click on it to add it to your form. Edit the formula and make sure that all the formula is enclosed by the parentheses.
4. Click Save to apply the changes.
5. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
6. Click on Conditions on the left side of the page.
7. Now, hover your mouse on your condition and click on the pencil icon to edit the Thank You page message.
8. Delete the $(evenueRisk) from the template message, and on the Email Content window, click on Form Fields, and select REVENUE RISK. Set it up as you can see below:
9. Once done, click on Save.
Check out the screencast below to see my results:
Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.
