How to extract child value to determine which submission to be forwarded

I have created a form

to capture volunteer requests to join a ministry. There are over 24 ministries all with their own leader. I want to forward their submission to the appropriate leader.

I have a table

with a column associated with the Dynamic Drop Down Widget. This column includes both the parent and the child. I want to create a column that will only contain the child value so that I can use that value to determine to whom the submission is forwarded. I will do this by using Conditions. This value may need to be a hidden form field?

I am not sure how to extract the child info into a separate column and use that info to determine the recipient

Can you help me figure this out.
