Hi!
I want to create a form that only certain people (members of my organisation) can fill out. I want to be able to share the link to anyone. However, in an ideal scenario, I would like to import a list of my members in Jotform so that when a member enters his/her ID, I'm able to check that the ID is indeed on my members list before I let them fill out the rest of the form.
Is it possible to do something like that? If it's not possible to block the person from filling out the form if they're not on the list, could the system flag them in any way? I hope that makes sense...
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks

Hi Duncan,
Yes, you can do this by using the Spreadsheet to Form Widget. You can hide all the other fields and only show the ID field and if the user enters a valid ID, you can show the remaining part of the form using the Show/Hide condition. Let me show you how to use the Spreadsheet to Form Widget.
1. Create a spreadsheet with your data structured like you see below. Make sure that the column names in the spreadsheet match the field names on the form, and include a unique column, like an ID, so the data can be distinguished.
2. In Form Builder, click on the Add Element button.
3. Go to Widgets and search for Spreadsheet to Form Widget, then drag it to your form.
4. In the menu on the right side of the page, upload your data file. (You can simply drag & drop your Excel file to the Upload File area.)
5. Then, click on the Downward Arrow icon in the Access Code Column option and select the unique column.
6. You can also customize texts used in the widget. After you complete everything, click on the Update Widget button at the bottom right of the menu.
7. Set all your other form fields to hidden and only show them once the ID field is filled:
You can use the condition below:
Now, when people fill out your form and enter the unique code from the spreadsheet, the hidden fields will show when they enter the correct ID and click Auto Complete Fields. Check out my screencast below to see how it works:
Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

Hi,
That's terrific, thank you! If I understand correctly, according to the same logic, I could autofill certain fields of the form based on the data from my spreadsheet? For example, the name?
Thank you so much for your help!

Hi Duncan,
You're correct; following the same logic, you can indeed autofill certain fields of the form based on the data from your spreadsheet, such as the name.
Reach out again if you need any other help.
