    Hi,

Is there an uncomplicated method to recode a response to a numerical value in the spreadsheet. For instance, if someone chooses Strongly Agree, it is represented in the spreadsheet with the number 5 instead of the words.

    Thank you,

    Hi Education_JAEI,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Yes, there's a simple way to assign numerical values to response options like Strongly Agree and have those values appear in the spreadsheet. You can do this by adding a Form Calculation widget to your form. Here’s how to do it:

First, we need to add a Single Choice element and set it up. Here's how to do it:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Element on the left side of the page.Recode Value Image 1 Screenshot 90
    2. Add a Single Choice element to your form.Recode Value Image 2 Screenshot 101

    4. In the Single Choice Properties window, click on the Options tab.
    5. In the Options tab, set the value of the Options textarea just like in the image.
    6. Turn on the Calculation Values option.Recode Value Image 3 Screenshot 112
