Storage: Why is upload usage still full after deleting submissions?

  • camilafrancosura
Asked on February 25, 2025 at 3:16 PM

    Hello Jotform Support Team,

I had around 1,400 submissions and I’ve reduced them to only 266. However, the storage usage still shows as full. I followed all the recommended steps—emptied all trash folders, checked incomplete payments, archived entries, cleared the form cache, and verified there are no hidden submissions in any tables. Despite these efforts, the storage status remains unchanged.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue so I can free up my storage? Thank you in advance for your help.

    Best regards,

    Hi camilafrancosura,

I understand you are having an issue of your storage still being full despite deleting a significant number of submissions. It appears that you have already taken several important steps to resolve this, including emptying trash folders and clearing the form cache. I checked your account and found that your form uploads is 10.22 GB/10.00 GB.

To further assist you with this issue, can you ensure that you have purged any submissions that contain uploaded files that you don't need anymore? Deleting these submissions is crucial, as they can still occupy storage space even after being removed from your main submission list. After purging these submissions, make sure to clear your form caches again.

We also have a guide about Understanding Your Account Usage and Limits that you can check out.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

    Hi, thanks for the response.

I already deleted approximately 1,300 submissions, then cleared the cache and repeated the cache clearing process several times. However, the current number of submissions isn’t consistent with the displayed file upload usage. I noticed that from yesterday to today, the storage usage decreased by almost 1 GB, but once again, it doesn’t match the actual number of submissions I currently have.

    Hi camilafrancosura,

I've reviewed your Jotform account associated with email ID: and can confirm currently you are within limits. But you have consumed 9.13GB and your allowed storage is 10GB. I've gone ahead and cleared your form caches, which means now the full storage notification will be clear. Additionally, your Inducción HSE VMM - 2024 form contains 19171 uploads. Submissions don't take much space, while the upload does take. To free up your upload space, you can delete and then purge your form entries with file uploads. Let me show you how:

    1. In My Tables, select the table which contains uploads & click on View Table in the right corner.
    2. Click on the File you want to delete and click on Trash can icon.
    3. In the pop-up on the screen, select Delete file to permanently delete the file.

    1. In My Tables, select the table which contains uploads & click on the View Table in the right conner.

    2. Select the Entries you want to delete and click on Delete button in the top-right corner.

    3. Select Move to Trash, in confirmation dialogue.

Then permanently delete them in the trashed entries.

    4. In the Table, select on Three Dots icon next to the Tab name.

    5. Select Trashed entries from the menu.

    6. In the Trash panel on the right, choose the submissions to delete, then select Delete Forever.

    7. Finally, select Delete in the confirmation dialog.

Questions about Upload Space Screenshot 84 Screenshot 117 Screenshot 84It is recommended to download all entries locally into your system before deleting them permanently from Jotform table because once you delete them permanently you won't able to recover them. If you want, you can integrate Dropbox with your Jotform and all the uploads will automatically upload to Dropbox as well. This guide will show you how to do that. We also have a guide about How to Integrate Your Form With Google Drive that you can check out.

Today, we performed another file clean-up, and we’re still encountering the same issue where our storage capacity appears to be at its limit. We need your assistance in reviewing what’s happening or, if possible, identifying any specific file that might be causing this problem.

    Hi camilafrancosura,

I checked and recalculated your account and saw that you currently have 9.77 GB out of 10.00 GB Total Upload usage, so you are within limits. Currently, your form labeled Inducción HSE VMM - 2024 has 20229 uploads, but we're unable to check the sizes of the uploaded files on your submission. We can look into this for you. We’ll just need access to your account to do that.

Don't worry, you can disable that again after we're done checking things out. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In the upper-right corner of your My Forms page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.

    2. In the small window that opens, click on Settings.

    3. In the panel on the left, click on the Security tab.

    4. Then, on the bottom-right side of the page, toggle Jotform Support Access to the On position.

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

    Hi camilafrancosura,

I checked your account, and it appears that your Upload Space has exceeded the 10 GB limit currently at 10.16 GB / 10.00 GB. This means that you’ll need to permanently delete more submissions with uploaded files to bring your storage back within limits. You can easily delete your trashed submissions in Jotform Tables. Let me show you how:

    1. In Jotform Tables, click on the Three Dots icon next to your form title in the tabs.
    2. In the dropdown menu, click on Trashed Entries to open the Trash menu.
    3. Then, in the Trash menu on the right, click on the Checkboxes to select the submissions you want to purge. To select all, click on the Select All button.
    4. Now, click on Delete Forever, and in the warning window, click on the Delete button to confirm.

Storage: Why is upload usage still full after deleting submissions? Image 1 Screenshot 20 To avoid permanently losing submission data, it’s recommended to Download Form Submissions as Excel, CSV, or PDF. Purging deleted submissions will free up your Submission Storage and Upload Space but won’t affect other limits. You can also check out our guide about Account Usage and Limits for more information.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

Good afternoon, we have deleted 2104 entries, with the procedure you recommended and then we deleted the forms cache again. but we still see file storage capacity above 10GB.

How do we recover storage capacity from this section? the problem is still present.

    Hi camilafrancosura,

I checked your account and saw that you have 10.19 GB out of 10.00 GB Total Uploads usage. I've recalculated the Total Uploads usage on your account, and it's now at 1.11 GB out of 10.00 GB, which activated your account. You should now be able to use your forms again.
