    Love the push notifications!!!

The only problem I have is that I was told it is only available on first time use of the app. We have many "old" app users and was wondering how we can give them the opportunity to opt in to push notifications

    Hi Harold,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Can you explain a bit more about the issue, so I can get a better idea of what's happening? I tested the Push Notifications Feature in the old Apps and it is working fine. Keep in mind that users need to allow to send notifications to their devices for them to receive the notifications.

    Check out the example screenshot:

To enable the Push Notification, Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In your App Builder, click the Settings on the purple navigation.
    2. Next, select Push Notifications on the left side of the screen.
    3. Lastly, click the Toggle Button to enable the Push Notifications.

You can check this guide about How to set up push notifications.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

    Harold,

I went to the app settings on my android. Under the app, it had notifications blocked, I allowed notifications. I went to the app, and pushed a new notification. I opened the app on my phone, and it asked me to allow notifications. I selected allow. When I pushed a new notification it worked.

    Here is the question.

If people are already using the app will they get a request to authorize push notifications?

    Hi Harold,

When you turn on Push Notifications for an app, people who are using the app will be asked to give permission for push notifications. This happens regardless of when the app was made or when the user started using it.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Once they have received the permission request and responded, I am assuming they will no longer receive that request again.

    Is that correct?

    Hi Harold,

Yes, once the app is already existed on the users' device and enabled the permission, it will no longer display the permission for the push notifications.
