I am trying to see why I am getting this error message

I have a rule that if the Company name is blank, then use the contact name.

Here is the form that I am using. As you can see the rule is working to fill in the company if its blank

Can you tell me why I am still getting this error message. Please note that it is getting into Salesforce correctly, but I don't understand the error.

    Hi Leveling,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Please note that this error message occurs when the user skips a form field mapped to a required Salesforce field. You can also check out this guide on how to learn about different Salesforce error messages. But since the Name field is currently required, can you confirm if you initially had submissions before the integration of Salesforce? If yes, then this could be the cause of the error. You can try to check both your Jotform table and Salesforce to see if there are any submissions without any value for the Name field. I also suggest re-integrating your Salesforce.

You can also check out this guide on How to Integrate Jotform With Salesforce.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

OK. It seems you are forcing me to require the user to put in a Company even if they don't have one.

I would have preferred the solution to allow me to write the condition to copy their name into the Company field, but it seems like you are making the user do extra work and having them retype it in themselves.

I feel this is a bug and should be addressed as such.

    Hi Leveling,

You'll get this type of error if your Salesforce object has required fields mapped to an optional Jotform field once the user skipped the field upon submitting their data. You experienced the error because the Company field was not required. You don't have to force your users to fill-out the Company field if they don't have a Company. The rule you've made was correct, you just have to require the field without having your users type in their answers. See the screencast below:

    • I set the Company field as required.
    • Added a condition that if the Company is empty, insert Name into Company.

After checking your form, I noticed that you removed the conditions and required the Company field. So, I assume that it should've fixed the error.

Reach out again if you have any other questions.
