Saving checked boxes inside of an embedded PDF

    Hello,

If I am using the PDF Embedder widget with checkboxes inside of that embedded PDF, is it possible to have the checked boxes saved inside the PDF when someone submits the form?

I have tested in my form "Clone of Organizational Checkup", but when I review my submission, the boxes I checked inside of the embedded PDF are no longer there.

The reason I am using checkboxes inside of the PDF is because I have 20 questions where the person is to rank between a score of 1-5. At the end, I'd like to calculate how many questions were given the score of 1, how many questions were given the score of 2, how many questions were given the score of 3, etc.

I have been unable to use the Form Calculation widget inside of JotForm to properly perform this action without it trying to provide the sum of the full question, rather than each individual rank of each question (with each individual rank representing a value of 1). So instead I have created a fillable PDF that can perform this action.

    Thank you for any insight!

    Hi Qualigence_International,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, getting data from the PDF inside the PDF embedder widget to calculate in Form Calculation widget is currently not available. As a workaround, you can use a Smart PDF Form and connect your form fields to your PDF, then you can add them up in Form Calculation widget.

You can check out this guide on How to Import Your Own PDF With Smart PDF Forms.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

Apologies for any confusion. I do not need to connect the embedded PDF to the Calculation widget as I have the calculations performed inside the PDF itself already!
I had to go this route because if I set up the questions directly in JotForm I couldn't set up the calculations correctly, so unfortunately I will not be able to use the Smart PDF feature.

    Example:

I was just hoping to see if it's possible for whatever is clicked inside the embedded PDF to be saved when someone submits the JotForm, as currently any selections made on the PDF appear blank when I view the form submissions.

    Hi Qualigence_International,

The PDF Embedder widget is only used for display so if you clicked on the checkboxes in the PDF, it will not be saved with the submission. As mentioned by my colleague, the workaround would be to use the Form Calculation widget. You mentioned you were unable to use it for your requirement. You can share with us the Form URL where you tried using the Form Calculation widget so we can check it out for you.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.
