Is it possible to add a fillable text field if the users have other answers from the dropdown menu?

Hello,

Hoping I can get some assistance with an issue that I am having with my form. In the form I am creating, I was told that I can use a drop down feature. I have to add the names of the people or options I want in each field. But the problem I am having is I am able to add the names. But I want an option in the drop down box that if the name or option is not there then they can type their name or option. I was told this is possible in previous chats but I am not exactly sure how to do this. Can I get some assistance please and thank you

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support.  Unfortunately, it’s not possible to add a fillable text field directly to a dropdown menu for users to provide answers that aren't listed in the options. The workaround is to add a Short Text field to your form and fill in the placeholder text to provide instructions to the form filler. Let me show you how to set this up in your form:

1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Form Element menu and drag and drop a Short Text field to your form.
2. Click on the Gear icon to open the short text field's properties, and then look for Placeholder under Advanced. 

3. Next, add the Other option to the list of options in the dropdown field.

Finally, create a Show/Hide Field conditional logic to show the short text field added when the Other option on the drop-down field is selected. Let’s do it:

1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.

2. Click on Conditions on the left of the page.

3. Now, click on Add a New Condition and then click on Show/Hide Field.

4. Set the conditions like you see below, then click on Save.
