Form User: Scam Report

I had a person contact me about a property I sold in July. There is a person trying to rent this property, however, I reached out to the new owner and they said they never heard of the person and they are not leasing the property at this time. The scammer is using your jotforms in an attempt to collect application fees from potential renters. They tell people that in order to see the property, they must first submit an application and fee. There is no identifying information on the form. The form says Dream Rentals Application Form

    Hi tmautx,

Thanks for reporting this matter to us and helping us to keep Jotform safe. Unfortunately, Online Form Builders, including Jotform, are sometimes used for identity theft, and we go to great lengths to prevent this. Our phishing detector will automatically flag forms like this and suspend the account, or our staff can do it manually.

Here are some guidelines to help you avoid scams:

    • Never fill out a form from an anonymous contact, an unknown organization, or a company with no website or legitimate presence.
    • Never pay money to get employment
    • Never provide critical information such as your SSN, banking information, or driver’s license numbers or pictures to such suspicious contacts.
