A glitch with the Form Calculation widget?

    Hi there!

I'm working on a form for IT asset requests.

The FCW (Form Calculator widget) works fine, but due to the complexity of the fields that are hidden and made available depending on the choices made, it has been challenging to get the conditions to behave as expected and allow the FCW to calculate accurately.

One part I'm stuck on is when I make some selections, go backward in the form, and change my selections. This behavior seems to confuse the FCW.

For example, let's say I choose a monitor, choose a size, choose to add a 2nd monitor, choose a size, and then look at the total - it calculates as expected. However, if I go back a couple fields, choose not to add a 2nd monitor, the total still includes the 2nd monitor in its calculation. In the FCW options, I enabled "Ignore Hidden Fields". But if a selection is made and the field is re-hidden, it seems like FCW still counts the re-hidden field.

Is there a way to "fix" this behavior?

    Cheers,

    Hann

Based on your scenario, the option you should use is the "Clear on being hidden":

Please give it a try, that should avoid conflicts when you navigate back to previous pages to change the selection.

    Hi BDavid!

    Thanks, that fixed the glitch!

I also didn't realize there was a "Show More Options" button in the Form Settings. I need more sleep!

    Cheers,

    Hann
