I have edited a PDF for use of printing out invoices to customers who complete the form.
Is it possible to use them same PDF as a template to other similar forms on my account?

Hi Steven,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Yes, you can create and save PDF templates, and then reuse them later using Jotform's My Templates feature. It's easy to use. Let me show you how:
To make and save a template:
- In PDF Editor, click on the Paint Roller icon on the right side of the page.
- Under the Customize tab, choose a background color and then scroll down and enter a title.
- Select a category and then click on Save as Template.
To use/reuse your saved template:
- In PDF Editor, click on the Paint Roller icon on the right side of the page.
- Under the Templates tab, open the dropdown menu.
- Click on My Templates and then choose the saved template that you want to use.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Thank you for those step-by-step instructions. Does it actually have to have a background color because I do not want the PDFs to have that background color when they get emailed or printed out to our customers?

Hi Steven,
No, you can remove the background colors as well from your PDF. Let me show you how:
- In PDF Editor, click on the Paint Roller icon on the right side of the page.
- Under the Layout tab, choose a background color and then scroll down and enter a title.
Check out this guide on How to Customize Your PDF Submission Report
Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.

Does this mean that when I am setting the original PDF template that I do not have to use a colored background as per the original instructions?

Hi Steven,
You have the option to save the PDF as a template with a colored background or without any colored background. This will automatically saved to your template. Also, you can update the background color if you used it with another form as mentioned by my colleague Waqas in his answer.
Let us know if you are looking for something else.

I have followed the following steps as provided by Carissa
To make and save a template:
- In PDF Editor, click on the Paint Roller icon on the right side of the page.
- Under the Customize tab, choose a background color and then scroll down and enter a title.
- Select a category and then click on Save as Template.
When I do this I only see Templates with a DropDown Box of templates. There is no Customize Tab.
I actually have made an Invoice already setup and I left it as the default name of "Simple Invoice" This is the PDF I want to make as a template for my other forms, however I am not able to do the first 3 steps suggested by Carissa as there is no Customize Tab as she stated.
Your further assistance is greatly appreciated.

Yes this would be fine, however I only with to save it as a template for my forms. How would I do that, as my invoice also contains specific details of how to pay to my account.

Hi Steven,
Unfortunately, there's currently no option to save the PDF template as private template, so only you can access it. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
As for your other question, I moved it to a separate thread to avoid confusion. You can check that out here.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

I hope you do develop that feature as private details is not good to share publicly and I would believe that Jotform has a level of responsibility to ensure that as a customer I have the option to protect my privacy.

This feature was available, but was removed. Forcing users to share without the option to choose. It's unfortunate that it's now mandatory.
