SeniorThrive, an SaaS platform based in Southern California, is on a mission to help older adults thrive safely and independently in their own homes.
People who want to age in place face safety hazards and fragmented care, while family caregivers often become overwhelmed trying to fill the gaps. In fact, according to SeniorThrive, although 95 percent of seniors want to stay in their homes as they age, every year this group experiences approximately 14 million falls in their homes.
SeniorThrive needed a way to provide accessible, personalized support to its target audience — which ranges in age from 55 to 93 — without overextending its internal resources, so it turned to Jotform.
By adopting Jotform’s AI Agents, SeniorThrive created an ecosystem of tailored guides that add real value to its platform, strengthen user retention, and help families feel more confident about aging in place.

How to get digital buy-in among older adults
Convincing an older family member to adopt something new is rarely easy.
Brian Fluhr, founder and CEO of SeniorThrive, knows there’s a disconnect. While most older adults want to stay independent at home, many don’t take the necessary steps to make their homes safer.
Understandably, after decades of managing on their own, many seniors feel they can handle whatever comes. That mindset often keeps them from seeking caregiving or digital support tools.
SeniorThrive is breaking through that mentality by focusing on early prevention and equipping seniors with the support they need so worst-case scenarios can be prevented.
As a startup, however, SeniorThrive has a lean team and needs to automate as much of its customer interaction and workflows as possible to grow at scale and achieve its mission.
Fluhr had ideas about the amount of customer-facing help SeniorThrive would need. And knowing that AI technology could potentially bridge that support and engagement gap, Fluhr set about looking for a solution.
Jotform AI triggers an “aha” moment
An experienced user of various SaaS solutions (SeniorThrive once ran its website on WordPress and still uses the CMS to power its blog), Fluhr was doing his due diligence on AI agent solutions when he came across Jotform.
“I must have read about it or saw it somewhere, because I never thought about Jotform as an AI agent provider,” explained Fluhr. “But, I had some ‘aha’ moments from some of your marketing, specifically . . . the use case–centric messaging. I’ve never seen a company with more examples of how AI agents can be used in vertical functions. It got me thinking: Why do we just want one specific, trained chatbot? We have a platform that does many different things.”
Elders need assistance in many ways, and Fluhr understood that Jotform’s AI Agents could be deployed across multiple specialties (like home safety, medicine tracking, pet care, and family relationship support) to meet the needs of both older adults and their caregivers.
Using Jotform’s vertically focused agents, Fluhr created approachable personalities, such as “Charlie,” the dog care guide, and “Fin,” the cat care guide. These engaging agents sit alongside mission-critical tools like medicine and pharmacy agents, which were trained on FDA data to provide safe, reliable information while directing users back to their physicians when necessary.
“It was important to craft engaging personalities for the agents,” said Fluhr. “Not only does that differentiate our product, it makes conversations more engaging. For some seniors who face loneliness, these casual interactions can even supplement family connections.”
AI Agents help to reduce churn
The level of churn (the rate at which existing customers unsubscribe) is a key metric for any subscription-based business; any tool or feature that can help reduce it improves the company’s overall outlook.
I know that the agents are high-value in maintaining our subscriptions.
Fluhr is pleased to see the effect the agents have had on SeniorThrive’s business.
“If someone chats with Charlie the dog agent, we know they’re likely to return. That kind of engagement helps reduce churn and sustain subscriptions,” he said.
Approaching the agents as a highly personalized retention tool, SeniorThrive captures value that goes beyond cost savings.
“If a customer has a question about their medicine, and our agent provides a trusted framework for them to find an answer,” said Fluhr, “that’s extreme value they’re creating themselves through our platform. It keeps [customers] coming back.”
With Jotform AI Agents, Fluhr and SeniorThrive have turned an “aha” moment into fully expanded functionality at scale. They’re even able to hand off escalated conversations to humans, a necessity for the business that Fluhr discovered was not available with the other, more confusingly priced AI chatbot services he researched.
AI Agents have empowered his imagination, allowing SeniorThrive to test new and different use cases across all of their customers.
”We’ve even created a Presentation Agent for onboarding occupational therapists and recently launched an Instagram Agent. The pace of integration is incredible — Jotform keeps opening new doors for us.”
