    It’s been a few years since we gathered detailed feedback on how to best support you as we work to encourage a sustainable future for Eventing in Ontario. Your feedback is invaluable. It will help us determine how to develop and prioritize programming in the short term to serve you best and it will guide us as we map out a strategic direction for the OEA for the next five years. All survey responses will be anonymous. Please respond to each question and click on the next button at the end of each section. When you reach the end of the survey, please click the button "When Complete - Submit!"

  • Section #1 - Getting to Know You

    A general snapshot of our membership, and possible new members currently riding and competing in other equestrian disciplines will help us develop programs and initiatives that add value to your Eventing experience and encourage growth in our sport.

  • Section #2 - Programming

    The Ontario Eventing Association (OEA) is a not-for-profit corporation headed up by a 15-member, volunteer, board of directors. The Board is made up of individuals who are passionate about the sport of Eventing, from throughout the province and across professional disciplines. Members of the Board work hard to support the OEA membership and work within the framework of horse-sport governance in Ontario and across the country, to ensure the continued development of safe and inclusive EC Sanctioned horse trials. The following questions are designed to help us identify and prioritize programming that responds to the membership.

  • Section #3 - Communication

    Regular and effective communication with our members is important. In 2024, the OEA website was re-designed and we hope that it is both useful and user-friendly. We also relaunched the quarterly “Startbox Newsletter”, employ e-mail blasts as necessary, and work hard to keep our social media feeds up-to-date and informative. We would love your feedback on which communications efforts you consider to be the most effective and where you think we might be able to improve.

  • Section #4 - Annual Meeting of Members and Year-End Awards

    Our Annual Meeting of Members (AMM) is your opportunity to join us and learn more about the work that we do on your behalf to support Eventing in Ontario. All our members are invited to attend. Prior to the COVID pandemic, the AMM was held in conjunction with a Year-end Awards Banquet. For the past three years, we have offered a combined AMM and year-end awards presentation at the Royal Winter Fair. In 2024 we enjoyed record attendance at the AMM/Year-End Awards Presentation and offered all the members who attended a complementary ‘picnic’ lunch. As we plan for 2025 and beyond, we would like to hear from our members what your preferred format is for the Year-End Awards and the AMM.

  • Section #5 - Volunteers

    Running an EC Sanctioned Horse Trial is a labor-intensive undertaking and would not be possible without a large number of volunteers at each event. The time invested by volunteers to help the organizers run the event greatly offsets the costs of labour, and helps the organizers make these events as affordable as possible. Please help us to gather feedback on how we continue to support volunteerism in Eventing, what you like about our Volunteer Incentive Program and how we could do better.

  • Questions for EC Licensed Officials

    The growing shortage of EC licensed officials is a major concern to the OEA.  We currently offer an Officials Bursary to help support individuals interested in becoming licensed. There is also a TD Reimbursement program to help organizers afford officials, especially those travelling from a distance. We have collaborated with EC in the past to offer Organizer clinics and plan to do so again. We welcome your feedback on how we can better support our valued officials.
